Tomorrow is a new day

Tomorrow is a new day and a new month. I think a new beginning is needed with your health. Try to get out and walk. Walking is good for your heart, lungs, mind, and body. 1) REDUCES STRESS It’s the perfect way to zone-out and rid yourself of any daily stress. Plus, the exercise-induced endorphins released will leave you feeling better than ever by helping to improve your mood. 2) MAINTAINS  A HEALTHY WEIGHT Regular walking can help you maintain a healthy weight, burn calories and help tone and strengthen your muscles. 3)  DISCOVER NEW PLACES Explore your local area by foot and discover somewhere new you didn’t even realise was there. 4) SAVES MONEY Cut down on petrol costs by walking to the shops instead. You don’t have to sign up to expensive virtual gym classes either as you can get plenty of exercise in for FREE! 5) WALK AND TALK Bring your friends and family, whilst getting in your daily steps. Remember to tell them about your challenge to encourage donations! 6)  LOWERS BLOO

Selling happiness

Today was a big day for me I sold my home I owned for  12 years. I felt lost after she left thinking I was missing something. Its crazy I haven't lived there in two years and I still feel like that. It's the only home my two youngest remember. I know it's for the best, for all of us. I still feel sad about it. I even sold my jewelry yesterday that made me happy I have been wanting to do that for years. I was to scared to do it before thinking what if it dont sell. Fear can take over so quickly when you let it. Turning a passion into a business is rewording. I have put everything in to my family but not myself I'm going to change that. My kids are getting older now it's time to think about myself.      Where do I want to be in five years? I hoping to be able to run a business. Be a partner or owner would be good. I love helping people that's why I became a Medical Assistant to help others. I would love to make it happen. Owning a business is not easy but I

Looking up

Things are looking up around here. Life is going good for for us. I will not gloat because you never know what is around the corner. We are starting to get the office bring money in. Today we set up more people and love that they come in and talk to us like family. We are not just running an office we are trying to start a new way of care. Where patients look at us like as equals. That how the medical fields should be. Some doctors think they are better because they have money. Money is the rout of all the is bad in the world. We need to start thinking of it as family. Would you only talk to your mom for 5mins and walk away. No you wouldn't. You would talk for 15 to 30mins about what is going on and do anything to help.      Why can't we do this with every patient we see? That's why we are doing Direct Primary Care we can do this no one can tell us that we can't. We do what we want. Life is not easy you have to push yourself everyday to be better and I think

Self care

I was talking to a patient on friday before I left work. She informed me her sister was going back to the hospital. Come to find out they sent her sister home with a colon collapse.  What is wrong with the hospitals? They never should of sent her home. She needs to have surgery. She is having surgery now, but they should of done that before they sent her home. Now she has an infection that is going to take time to clear up. This is the same thing I been hearing about from a lot of people the hospital don't have time to even look at patients. Why? Doctors go to school to help people not for the system to tell them otherwise. They refuse to do there job. It drives me crazy to not see the care that people need.      When covid happened care to patients went down hill. they shut down all medical offices. We had so many people die (not from covid) but because doctors were told to close offices. You couldn't even be seen for a runny nose you had to go to the hospital. Then when

End of the week

The end of the work week. Even tho I was sick and missed two days of work. I'm happy to say I can't wait for the weekend to start. There is so much to do at my house that I have been putting off. I think it's time to some spring cleaning or should I call it summer cleaning. We moved two years ago and I still Have boxes that we never even opened. How did we let that go for so long. I need some  motivation, but how do you get motivated when you have no help. I look around and every one is sitting. You can ask them for help because if you do then you are being mean.      I try very hard to be organized but I'm the only one trying. It would be nice for a little help. Even ideas on what the next step should be. We built my mom an apartment over a year ago and it's still not done. It's hard to do when prices keep going up on  materials. I could paint but then my house would have to wait. I just don't know where to start. as of right now I don't know what

Business Expo

Ogemaw County is having a business and community expo Friday, July 15th. We are trying to get ready for it. There is a lot to think about, What to put up?, What giveaways?, also How to let people know what we are about?. We are trying to get the word out about us but there is still a lot of questions. We are also thinking about doing a  seminar, to invite the community. We think this might help with the understanding of DPC.      We are trying to find other ways of connecting with the community. Something that will be fun and interactive. I found out that I really like promoting. It's just not easy to do in a small town. The expo will bring a lot of people. Last year when Dr Sperbeck was in the expo she only had one person that wanted to be a patient. Now that we are open and talking more about this maybe we can bring more patients in.      Patients are scared of new thing. I get it. We are trying to make it more affordable to the community, to get great health care. We can

DPC

Image
We had our Ribbon-Cutting Friday. It was so nice to have so many people here that care about the community and us. I would love to thank West Branch Chamber of Commerce for the help and support. Heather is the greatest she help us in so many ways. She was there to answer every question we had. They do so much for the community. West Branch has the best support group I have ever seen.      Efter seeing the post on facebook asking what is DPC I would like to explain a little more. The Direct Primary Care (DPC) model is a practice and payment model where patients/consumers pay their physician or practice directly in the form of periodic payments for a defined set of primary care services. DPC practices typically charge patients a flat monthly or annual fee, under terms of a contract, in exchange for access to a broad range of primary care and medical administrative services. The DPC practice framework includes any practice model structured around direct contracting with patients/con

Ribbon Cutting tomorrow 🎀

I can't believe tomorrow is the day. We are so excited to see everyone. I hope this will bring more patience in to the office. I understand people don't know what we are all about. So at least this way we can explain.  We have been working so hard to make tomorrow special for everyone that is joining us. It's been a long exhortation week. We are almost ready. We are putting up a big sign so everyone can see. Our office is tucked away from the road so it's hard for people to even know where we are. We hope this will make a difference.  I want to thank West Branch Area Chamber of Commerce for promoting us. Also a big thank you to my son for being here and helping us set everything up. You are a big help, always helping any time I ask.

Monday Morning Blues

Mondays are always the hardest. After a long weekend it's so hard to get motivated. We have the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony this friday and so much todo. We can handle it, It's just trying to stay on task is the problem. We have the food ordered. Plates and cups in the office. Now we just have to thank about how we will set up for every thing. Every time I think about something I get side track. I started a list, then missed placed it. I'm still trying to find it. Might have to make a new one. Writing this blog has been so nice because when I get stressed out I start typing away. Even if no one reads what I have to say at least i feel better. That's all that matters.      I have been trying new ways to handle things in life and at work and so far it's been working. Changing a little with my diet. Taking vitamins that I didn't know I needed until I took them. I'm feeling better my mind and body. You don't really notice you need things until you try. I

Happy Friday

Happy Friday to all my bloggers out there. Make this weekend everything you want it to be. If it's not going right then change it. It's up to you, how you are going to look at it. Don't let others bring you down. Cut the grass, plant flowers, and just be happy. You only die once but you live everyday. So make the best of it.  I will be going to a bridal shower this weekend. I'm so happy I get to see my family. They mean the world to me. Some of us don't see eye to eye on things but we still listen and nobody get hurt over the little things.  I don't have much more time before I leave for the day, so just remember to smile. Be happy for what you have.

Questions for today

Why is it when one thing goes right something bad happens?  Do you ever feel like your be punished? Do you ever think about giving up?  Do you ever think about running away? Do you feel like no one is listening?  Do you feel like things are holding you bad?      Questions for today. If we could stop asking questions, instead try to answer them. Things are hard now a days. People don't know what to do, so they ask a lot of question. They want people to tell them what to do, but they don't take the advice. Think it from the show "Jeopardy".       I feel when things go right something bad needs to equal it out. No one is or will ever be punished if you do the right thing. If you have done something wrong then yes you need to be punished. Not everyone is the same, everyone takes things differently. When something bad happens look at it in a different way, maybe it needed to happen. No one should even give up on  them self or someone else. Stand by them, listen to them. So

Ribbon Cutting

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony is underway only 9 more days. We are having finger foods and drinks. No alcohol!!! Just though I should add that last part in. I can't wait to see the community and have everyone here. We have been working so hard. Our patients mean so much to use. This has been a journey, with in the last couple of months. It has been worth every minute. I talked to a patient today and realized, when we do talk to people that come in it's like we are talking to a friend or family member. Some that come in are closer to us then even some family members. We feel a connection to them. It makes you worm and fuzzy on the inside knowing that they love to come in and talk to us about anything.      I was told that people like coming in here because they don't feel embarrassed about anything. They can talk to us about deep problems or even  things that they have never told anyone. They are comfortable to come in because we make it feel like home. When you walk in the do

A Day At Work

Everyday I come in hoping for the phone to ring. I know this is new for the community and they don't understand but I feel it in my heart that after people meet us they will understand it more. Things take time and patients. Without it we don't have faith in our self. With faith we have patients.      I have never thought of Bogging or ever writing. Like I said before I only know Medical. I was told if you write it don't get it off your chest you feel better. Well here I am. I will try anything to feel better.      Life is not easy when you don't have a dream or passion. This is Dr. Sperbecks passion and she made me a believer in it and her. I don't know where I would be without meeting her. I would probably be in a dead end job. Where I would work so much and be burnt out.      We have had two people reach out to us yesterday that sounds like we can help them. One told me that they had a telehealth for 8 mins and was charged $230. That is a lot of money to go

West Branch DPC

I stared working for Sally Jo Sperbeck D.O. Ph.D., FACOI Internal Medicine Physician at the end of January 2022. She opened a new Medical office in West Branch  Michigan the beginning of 2022. The name is West Branch DPC. (I had no Idea what the DPC was). DPC stands for Direct Primary Care. It is a membership based model of healthcare where members pay a fixed, monthly fee to receive unrestricted access to their Primary Care Doctor. We keep cost low because we don't accept health insurance. We offer high-quality care to adults and geriatric patients. This includes chronic disease management (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc), mental health,  urgent care, sports medicine, medical weight loss, and annual physicals.      Dr. Sperbeck has worked in West Branch Michigan for more than ten years. She opened her own independent practice based on the model of Direct Primary Care. This is a health care model of putting patient first by getting rid of the red tape that contains tradit
